Early Poll Results Suggest More Uncommitted Voters Saw Obama As Debate Winner

CBS News and Knowledge Networks conducted a nationally representative poll of approximately 500 uncommitted voters reacting to the debate in the minutes after it happened.
These figures are still preliminary and could change as more respondents complete the survey. But here's what we have so far:
Forty percent of uncommitted voters who watched the debate tonight thought Barack Obama was the winner. Twenty-two percent thought John McCain won. Thirty-eight percent saw it as a draw.
Forty-six percent of uncommitted voters said their opinion of Obama got better tonight.
Sixty-eight percent of uncommitted voters think Obama would make the right decisions about the economy. Forty-one percent think McCain would.
Forty-nine percent of these voters think Obama would make the right decisions about Iraq. Fifty-five percent think McCain would.
We will have a full report on the poll later on. Uncommitted voters are those who don't yet know who they will vote for, or who have chosen a candidate but may still change their minds.

Fox says McCain won
82% McCain
16% Obama
So what?
ABC, CBS and NBC are all straight line dems, of course he won there....lol
In my opinion it was pretty equil.
Not saying your poll isn't true, but I can't find it on the fox news site.
Keeping an open mind I thought McCain didn't better than I expected, he started off looking really nervous but dove right in. Obama was ready to receive, it was truly like a good tennis match.
Your link showed me another link on the site - and they already have graded them on the debate.
McCain:
Both my husband and I (strong Obama supporters) were also surprised that Obama won according to the polls. We thought it was a draw.
I think McCain's making faces and talking down to Obama, just cuz he didn't use military lingo, was a turnoff for many, as it was for me.(Most Americans didn't know that Obama was using the "wrong" language; kind of like most Americans weren't bothered by the fact that Palin didn't know what the "Bush Doctrine" was.) McCain continued the dirty business of his campaign ads in making those faces and snickering at Obama.
Obama politely showed respect for McCain while he disagreed with him, and some may have viewed that as a presidential attribute. Thank God! I was so afraid some advisers would tell him to get mean and dirty.
The other big difference I noticed was McCain's hawkishness. He appeared eager to keep spending billions on new wars, while Obama clearly favors diplomacy although he would go to war if conditions would warrant it. I think Americans are sick of our economy suffering at home while trillions are spent on a 6+ year, Iraq war where even Petraeus says we may never be able to claim victory. I think McCain's hawkishness must have been a turnoff.
The differences in fiscal policy were pretty much the same as we've been hearing all along, and because they both seemed to agree that some form of bailout is needed I didn't see either gaining any new advantage in that area.

Agree, that is what I was trying to convey in my previous note on this thread.
Just posted this in another thread.
Thanks so much for providing the link.
