More gun restrictions are so stupid, who do they think will follow these laws? The people that would follow these laws are the type of people that wouldn't go out and kill people in most cases anyway. I am a wife and mother of three and my husband works out of town on many weeknights and having a handgun in my bedroom makes me feel much safer.
I have no problem in general terms with some protections and restrictions, never said I didn't.
I don't care what Obama wants to do about guns really cause I don't think trying to stop people from having them would work anyway. I honestly don't care about assault rifles one way or another. I don't think most crimes are committed with them anyway. My uncle has one but I wouldn't really care if he couldn't.
So why can't Obama say there has to be a way to reconcile gun ownership with some protects and restrictions? That's what Scalia said in the opinion.
You mean like the way the gov't of New Orleans "protected" and "restricted" the citizens of New Orleans to defend themselves after Katrina by confiscating firearms ?
I have no problem with litigation showing up, something I noted in the same thread since the USSC ruling couldn't help but open that door.
He personally believes cities should be able to ban handguns, and has supported legislation to do so.
fleur...
ordinary citizens have never been able to own AK-47s, because they have a "full auto" mode - i.e., machine guns.
the "assault rifle ban" never was about automatic weapons.
Yep - I've got a few -
