Just saw a new McCain ad.  It is blaming Obama for this new bill  and implying that he and Harry Reid are to blame for the new bill that Bush wanted passed.  It's all their fault that taxes will go up.  I just wondered how long it would be till McCain pulled this.  He is so............blaah!

>>> LOL! from your Washington Post cite: One Republican in the room said it was clear that the Democrats came into the meeting with a "game plan" aimed at forcing McCain to choose between the administration and House Republicans. "They had taken McCain's request for a meeting and trumped it," said this source.>>>

Not surprising that the Democrats would take an opportunity to set partisanship aside for the sake of the country...they created the debacle after all, and are probably looking for as much political cover/diversion as they can possibly muster.

>>> So McCain requested the meeting and had Bush summon Obama to a meeting AND the Democrats took that grandstanding by McCain, turned it around and "trumped it." LOL!

"Trumped it" in one person's opinion. Personally, I think it took a lot of integrity for McCain to set aside an easy solution and put the people before his political aspirations by siding with the House Republicans.

>>> No wonder things fell through. It wasn't a substantive policy meeting, it was a photo op for the knight in shining armor. The knight in shining armor wouldn't offer any comments when asked what he thought.

It could have been a substantive meeting if the Democrats didn't start throwing tantrums like the Pillsbury-butthole Barney Frank apparently did. You can almost see the slobber flying around the room every time he opens his gaping maw.

From your cite: Obama then jumped in to turn the question on his rival: “What do you think of the (insurance) plan, John?” he asked repeatedly. McCain did not answer.>>>

Typical Obama...try to figure out what McCain will do so you can look like you know what you're doing. LOL! Good for McCain for stonewalling him. Let the runt fly by the seat of his pants.
