Bailout being rejected, thoughts?

Hi –

The bailout being rejected is not a good thing, it affects EVERYONE.  Banks have no money, we have no money (generally speaking).

I was speaking with a co-worker that said the Democrats insisted the Parachute Clause be put into the plan otherwise they’d vote against it (keeping Exec’s from these millions of dollars) so that is why the Republican’s majority anyhow rejected it.  They are so greedy and now they have cut their nose to spite their face.

Thoughts everyone?

How many pounds of peanuts are consumed in the United States each year?

2.4 billion pounds! About 50% is consumed as peanut butter.

I never said anything about “our way being so terrible” I did say I did NOT agree with the republican theory and the way the vote went with the bailout. That’s why I’m passionate about Obama – we need a change, we don’t run from change but we do everything in our power to help out our country and getting Obama in office is a good start. If you want to mix words please don’t mix mine. Thanks for respecting that.

Look, there is no other solution right now – this is a legitimate concern.

I keep thinking that they voted against their prez (and they have been iffy all along) because they know their candidate is going to lose. This way, if the dems pass it and it bombs 2 years down the road under president Obama, they can all say that they opposed that terrible plan back when.

Why do you think this is the solution?

Tragic as it caused a 780 point drop in the market which is the biggest drop ever, second biggest in 9/11/01 which was 690 point drop. Let's turn the tables, why don't you explain why this was a great thing and what YOU propose we do?

I certainly hope that there is more to voting for or against this bail out than this type of logic.

You want to turn the tables because....you don't know why this bail out plan is attractive to you?

First, everyone seems to be challenging ME and I think I’m handling my own quite well with honesty and a bit of confusion like everyone else as well as my personal opinion.
