Never - ever - have I heard more a vacuous, vapid response to a question from a major candidate for public office:

Please, people.  Please.  You cannot put this bimbo in the White House.

Well you are right on one point - we are afraid of Palin - but not for the reason you think. If you were looking at her objectively you would be afraid of her too. She has demonstrated she is willing to abuse power, and then admitted during the debate that she would like to expand the powers of the vice president beyond what power hungry Cheney has already done. She has not shown a curiosity about history and that is dangerous if we want to avoid mistakes of the past. She is uninformed about the constitution, foreign affairs - beyond what has been crammed into her head for the debate - and she has already termed herself a 'pitbull' at a time that we need to be shoring up or position in the world. Diplomacy will not have a place in a McCain/Palin administration - and that is dangerous for us all. So yes we are scared and if you could see the forest for the trees you would be too.

<<"She has demonstrated she is willing to abuse power.">>

When has she? Or is this an illegitimate question?

No, Walt Monegan did NOT say that, specifically. In fact, he's said just the opposite. What he said was that neither the governor nor her husband or any of the numerous aides she had talk to Monegan about it were unsubtle enough to directly ORDER or SUGGEST outright "fire him." But Monegan has also said explicitly that Todd Palin, and Sarah - both through aides and personally, did indeed utilize subtler but pervasive pressure to that end.

Second, if you were in Palin's shoes, and a policeman had tried to intimidate your family and made death threats against your loved ones (not to mention being privy to his many other offenses and his negative character in general), wouldn't you ardently complain to his superiors?...and probably try to get him fired?

If I were the governor of the state, directly able to fire the person I was needing to "complain" to, no, for the obvious reasons that are playing themselves out right now

Do I fear Palin? oooooh yaa, gosh darn it. She is not well educated and it shows. She was picked to appeal to joe and jane six pack: the old GOP strategy of don't trust those smarty smarts who read and believe in science. BTW has anyone else noticed that her accent got thicker since

Please. This investigation was approved by a UNANIMOUS vote of fourteen-to-zero, and ten of the people voting in favor of it were Republicans.

Politics is being injected into it now because Palin is - literally, unprecedented in American history - running for the second-highest office in the land, while under investigation for misuse of power while in a lower office.

JMHO but any officer (and he admitted this part) who uses a taser on a 10 yr old kid should have immediately been fired ... and any chief or other commanding officer who can't see that is questionable imho.
