Never - ever - have I heard more a vacuous, vapid response to a question from a major candidate for public office:

Please, people.  Please.  You cannot put this bimbo in the White House.

"If you don't like her, dammit, don't vote for her... but can we lose the sexist stuff? Please?"

I agree. She is not a bimbo. She is a very new Governor of a tiny state who is out of her league on the national scene. She does not have the experience she needs to be President or Vice President of the United States. This is especially troubling given McCain's age. I think she also has a problem with candor and is very radical in her political views. She also has some religious views which are not fully explained - getting up there on stage with the anti-Semitic witch doctor after he spewed against the Jews so he could pray for her to be part of a Christian movement in taking over the government and our financial institutions scared me. Anywa, I really blame McCain for putting her in this position. You can say it's her fault for not being more self-aware that she is not ready, but I don't think that's fair. You just don't turn down an offer like that. McCain never vetted her. He just used her as bait to try to catch disgruntled Hillary voters.

If I were a conservative, I would be very troubled by Palin's answer that there is a right to privacy under the US Constitution. That is the cornerstone for Roe. Palin's statement that states should decide a right to privacy under the US Constitution is just plain wrong as a matter of law.

If you are on the right and take her seriously, which I think the right does, this is very troubling.

I am sure we have all heard of those but if I was being interviewed and was asked that point blank I wouldn't be able to answer. I could say something like - oh, there's one saying that there cannot be racial segregation, etc. but then again, I'm not running for vp and I'm not the governor of one of our 50 states so you all are safe.

Now, just for the fun of it: she was asked if she DISAGREED with any supreme court decisions. We all know that the most common ones like Roe v Wade (which she couldn't use) and Brown v BOE and the Miranda decision...there is no way she could've used one of those to disagree with, she would've looked much worse.

Maybe she just hasn't been told yet which ones she can and can't agree with.

I think that anyone who is one heartbeat away from the oval office should be taken seriously by us all. I agree with your points. I would like to add that eventhough I am not on the right of the political spectrum, I am hugely troubled by Palin's lack of knowledge. What is even scarier is that she does not have the skill to deflect and use the knowledge she does have to portray intelligence. When she is stumped, she stammers, goes off on tangents or looks flustered.

<<'I think that anyone who is one heartbeat away from the oval office should be taken seriously by us all.">>

What/why is it that Biden is NOT discussed/viewed anywhere as being "one hearbeat away from the oval office" as well?
