Hi everyone --

We wanted to get your reaction to the Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin. Did you watch? What did you think -- and who do you consider the winner? Were there any surprises? Tell us what you considered to be the highlights, the low points and everything in between.

Please note: This discussion will be featured on our homepage as well as our Election 2008 feature page (http://www.ivillage.com/0,,dkrjhqbk,00.html) and may elicit some "Guest" responses from our "Talkback" box tool on the page. >>Really? I'd thought it had been quite a while since Bush was "well-liked."

You must have missed where I explained this to another poster.

Well, I'm not allowed to say "great, steaming, fragrant mounds of recently-deposited bulls---", so I have to make adjustments.

>>Over the years I've heard about how we want someone outside Washington

So why McCain then? Near as I can tell, he's as much an insider as Biden, and given his level of experience, he's more of an insider than Obama.

Me, I'm not so cynical about our politicians. Besides, I think some working knowledge of Washington can be an asset. I prefer to look at the candidates themselves and decide.

No, just hadn't gotten there yet. I respond as I'm going through the thread.

Actually, by gibberish, I meant that she spoke in strings of words without subjects, verbs, and objects.

Biden. His answers were from the heart not forced down his throat for a few days at the Mc.Cain ranch. I am independent and Palin prior to boot camp at McCain's ranch, was frightening. She sounded almost retarded. I am not prepared to have her as VP. If so many staunch Republicans are saying: she is not ready. John should listen

Sarah Palin won this debate. I really liked her during her acceptance and campaign speeches…but the media has successfully made me doubt her and my gut instincts about her over the past few weeks.

The thing that surprised me about the debate was that I was surprised to find myself liking Joe Biden....despite his heavy make-up....phony Chicklet teeth and obvious hair plugs.

Governor Palin is genuine; Biden is phony and a liar...he always has been. Biden reminds me of a used car sales person....despite the fact that I know he is a liar and has his best interest at heart not mine/ours....you kind of find your self liking him anyway.
