Hi everyone --

We wanted to get your reaction to the Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin. Did you watch? What did you think -- and who do you consider the winner? Were there any surprises? Tell us what you considered to be the highlights, the low points and everything in between.

Please note: This discussion will be featured on our homepage as well as our Election 2008 feature page (http://www.ivillage.com/0,,dkrjhqbk,00.html) and may elicit some "Guest" responses from our "Talkback" box tool on the page. Inappropriate responses that violate our Terms of Service will be removed.

BIDEN by a landslide! Palin is a little too cutesie to run a country, and the chances of McCain dying from his invasive cancer before his term is up is quite high. Most of all, she avoided the questions!

Admittedly he is older, and people in their 70's can tend to have more health problems, but what makes you think his chances of dying of his cancer in the next 4 years is quite high? I'm curious about this, as his doctors don't say that. Also I have lived with a probably more serious cancer for over 13 years, and don't plan on leaving the earth any time soon. It is amazing the advances in medicine and cancer treatments and diagnostic tests just in the last 4 years! Please do not assume, because someone has had cancer, that their chances of dying in 4 years are high. There are many thousands of survivors who would take issue with thinking he won't make it 4 years because

And yet they don't...as the links I provided demonstrate quite handily.

Biden. Palin didn't seen to know much about the subjects that are important to me. She also bothered me when she said it was wrong for Biden to keep on pointing back to the mistakes of the Bush administration. Doesn't she know that the future depends on what we've learned of the past. If McCain nominated Palin to win the vote of women I am and will be super offended. There are many other people that would better suit the position of VP than Palin.

I am going to assume that Pres. Bush, when referring to "we", was referring to all Americans. He is wrong.

This American family lives within its means. We took out a conventional mortgage, and paid it off early! We do not live outside of our means. We pay off our bills every month. We have substantial savings. We have little debt. We *could* have more than we do because we have the financial means to do so, but prefer not to.

Biden is the best V-Pres. candidate.
Palin did not win because she did not answer the questions. She is not the best qualified candidate.

I agree that knowing about the past will help us avoid future problems..... although when people spend the first few sentances of any statement trying to blame someone else of problems, before telling their solutions, it gets very old. They need to say, we are in this situation, and we need to fix it so we not only get out of it, but we won't get into it again.
