Hi everyone --

We wanted to get your reaction to the Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin. Did you watch? What did you think -- and who do you consider the winner? Were there any surprises? Tell us what you considered to be the highlights, the low points and everything in between.

Please note: This discussion will be featured on our homepage as well as our Election 2008 feature page (http://www.ivillage.com/0,,dkrjhqbk,00.html) and may elicit some "Guest" responses from our "Talkback" box tool on the page. Inappropriate responses that violate our Terms of Service will be removed.

Thanks for your input!

She wasn't holding her pen the whole time like Biden.

I thought they both did pretty well. Biden answered the questions, as expected; and Palin didn't (or rattled off a bunch of rehearsed lines), as expected.

There's one thing I'm not quite clear on, though, after seeing the debate tongight:

Is SP a maverick? I mean, when she's up there in Alaska (wink), is she a maverick?
And what about John McCain? Is HE a maverick? Even about I-RAK', is he a maverick?

Because as an independent voter, the most important quality, at least for me (wink), is that the next president and the next VP are mavericks!

And what about Biden and Obama? Biden didn't mention the word. That makes me think he's not one. Maybe I can't vote for him and Obama. The worst thing for this country, I mean, at this time, with the greed on Wall Street and all the oil that's not being drilled and the hockey moms (wink) who have to take their children to,well, even the doctor! Well, they need a maverick in the White House!

I think I am very nervous about Palin not knowing so much. I am honestly scared of her. I think she is strong, but one need to know certain issues, or be aware of certain matters, which she clearly is not.

Joe Biden. He actually answered the questions. Sarah Palin even said that she wasn't going to answer the questions!

I believe Biden clearly won, he actually answered the questions and didn't sound rehearsed the way Palin did. She actually did better than she normally has on all these interviews we've seen her on but I still do not feel she is ready to be Vice President.

She said "darn" 16 times.

She said "nucular"

She threw in "heck" at least 5 times

She appealed to "Joe 6 pack".

She called Mckiernan: McClellan

She thinks there is a tribe called the "Talibani"

I've watched George Bush for 8 years. Why vote for a dumber, snarkier version in a skirt and lip gloss

I think Senator Joe Biden won the debate. He was more knowledgeable, was more gracious, and he had more definitive and clear answers. Also, he demonstrated that he is/would be more diplomatic. He also demonstrated a greater understanding of his presidential nominees' and his opponent's policies.
