Hi everyone --

We wanted to get your reaction to the Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin. Did you watch? What did you think -- and who do you consider the winner? Were there any surprises? Tell us what you considered to be the highlights, the low points and everything in between.

Please note: This discussion will be featured on our homepage as well as our Election 2008 feature page (http://www.ivillage.com/0,,dkrjhqbk,00.html) and may elicit some "Guest" responses from our "Talkback" box tool on the page. Inappropriate responses that violate our Terms of Service will be removed.

I feel so bad for Senator Biden. Just because Ms. Palin didn't suck, as expected, we're calling that debate a draw. Pat Buchanan even claimed afterward, that she won!!! It goes to show, we all have to get involved to come to our own conclusions. To me, Palin seemed all over the place with her answers. She came across as incoherent, rude, and clueless. She gave less specifics than Biden and answered very few questions directly. I did my fact-checking the morning after (both told lies); hers were just more insidious. Most troubling was learning that she wants to expand the powers of the vice presidency, like Cheney does.

Think wrongly if you please, but in all cases think for yourself.

Palin lied about Obama voting to raise taxes on those making $42,000.

Palin lied about being at pre-surge levels of troops in Iraq

Palin lied about being in favor of divestiture of Alaska's funds in Darfur.

Palin lied about McCain being in favor of allowing the government to force mortgage holders to restructure borrower's loans

Shall I go on? There are plenty more.....

Joe Biden. She's did better than I thought, but she has no depth or breadth of ANY issue.

Definitely, Joe Biden. Though Palin did better than her Couric interviews, she is still certainly not presidential material. The fact that she had to be tutored and educated extensively just to be in the debate is worrisome. According to actuarial science, she has a 1 in 6/7 chance of becoming president (if McCain dies). That is way too high a risk. This country is full of intelligent leaders who don't have to be tutored to engage in discussions of world issues.
