Hi everyone --

We wanted to get your reaction to the Vice Presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin. Did you watch? What did you think -- and who do you consider the winner? Were there any surprises? Tell us what you considered to be the highlights, the low points and everything in between.

Please note: This discussion will be featured on our homepage as well as our Election 2008 feature page (http://www.ivillage.com/0,,dkrjhqbk,00.html) and may elicit some "Guest" responses from our "Talkback" box tool on the page. Inappropriate responses that violate our Terms of Service will be removed.

Thanks for your input!

Well, I hope you'll all forgive me for not reading the previous 500+ posts. But, I was impressed by Palin. Not because she did great or good (which she did) but... Joe Biden is known as the "great debater". With all of his years of experience on "The Hill" and all his experience debating, I thought he would do better.

I don't care what anyone says. Palin held her own. And if that is due to rehearsing or coaching, I think that's great too. At least we know she's a fast learner! I don't think it will change any votes, either. People who are voting for Obama are voting on him for the same reason they voted for Bill Clinton. He is a dynamic SPEAKER. They love him. Why? I don't know. I haven't personally heard a speech that inspired me either from Obama OR McCain. But, I HAVE been inspired by Palin. I don't think Palin will CHANGE votes. But, I think she will inspire people who wouldn't have voted to vote.

For me, there is one question that must be answered before anything else is even considered: is this person competent to have command authority over the US nuclear arsenal in the event he/she becomes president? In the case of Gov Palin, the answer is absolutely not.

Biden won -- Sarah Palin didn't answer any questions.

They both did well, but Palin tip toed around all of the questions. Ok "Maverick" and "you're darn right" were annoying and oh yeah the shot out to her brother and his school. Ok inappropriate. What annoyed me the most is that she kept reviewing her cue cards, or it was like she had an earpiece and repeated what they say to her. I dont think she's real and Biden clearly knows his stuff. Vote Obama/Biden 08.
