Just to clarify Troopergate and Librariangate:
The issue is that Palin tried to pressure her ex-brother in law's supervisor to fire him because she and her family have a personal vendetta, AND that she used her power to disclose confidential information from his personnel records.

FYI..."Troopergate" is about the firing of Walt Monegan who was a public safety commissioner in charge of the state troopers. Supposedly Monegan wouldn't fire Palin's ex-brother-in-law and complained that he was getting pressure from Palin (or her administration) to fire the ex-brother-in-law. Palin said she fired him for other reasons, but he insists that he was fired because he wouldn't fire the ex-brother-in-law. Here is a link to the Anchorage Daily News collection of articles regarding the firing of Monegan:
Palin pressured the librarian and sent her a letter telling her she was going to be fired for not pulling certain books that Palin wanted taken out of the library.

This is one problem I have with her.
As no one, and no news article, has suggested this was not legal, I suspect it is legal.
Even if I wanted a VP who was "just like me," Palin certainly wouldn't fit the bill.
Right! Everyone here is missing the main point.
Palin wanted to get rid of the librarian and used the excuse that she didn't support the mayor.
Think about that. A librarian and a mayor.
Would the librarian not perform for him? Would she not let him hold a meeting in the library? Would she display support for an opponent of the mayor in her car? Would she not buy him lunch? Would she not remove the books he asked her to, after Palin asked him to ask her to?
The point is PALIN WAS WRONG to threaten the librarian. Using the mayor to cover for her makes her SLEAZY on top of being WRONG!

Unfortunately there is a fee to read the entire article, but I found this:

Palin was the mayor.

Sorry...I'd read the above paragraph in your other post but didn't go to the actual newspaper article. When the lines above are taken out of context, it is not clear that Palin and the mayor were one and the same. (Not a Palin fan, I couldn't remember if this happened when she was mayor or governor.)
So yeah....she was just wrong in sending the threatening letter. I retract my statement that she was sleazy.

You can still call her sleazy if you want to.
