McCain and the GOP keep sticking it to the little guy. The GOP simply has no policy proposals worth considering. I wish that weren't the case, but unfortunately, it's just the truth.

The part that bothers me the most is that their plan involves taxing employers for providing coverage to employees, which will guarantee that many businesses will simply not offer coverage.

I completely agree. It's just more lobbyist-authored policy designed to protect industry and change nothing.

This is a very, very scary proposal for many Americans.

I agree. And if employers decide to continue health care benefits, the fact that they'll be taxed on them means that they'll simply increase the dollar amount we employees will have to contribute toward insurance premiums.

McCain's is a pro-business, anti-worker health care proposal.

I believe the plan is to tax the amount the employee receives from their employer. Example if my employer paid $6k per annum. towards my health insur. it would be taxed along with my salary/pay.

I agree good luck in finding insur. for $5k. This goes to show how disconnected McCain is from ordinary working people.

The part that gets me is in McCain's plan it says 'up to 5,000" for a family, what is "up to"? that means it could be LESS, depending on whatever. Someone else was using 10,000 as the average ammount an employer pays for the Employee to have healthcare, it's now more like 12,600 to cover a Family. So, if the Insurance companies get 5,000 for said employee, then the business is still paying 7,600, ok,my Dh pays 375.00 a month and we have a high deductable of 3,000 a year befor the ins. pays 100%. So WHO benefits here? Do you really think that Employers will pay the employee more? Even if they opt to buy ins. on their own? If you do, I have a bridge to nowhere to sell you.

Here's an article about health care plans. They like McCain's better, but think it has flaws.

Bid said it well. McCain would give us $5000 and make us pay for a plan that would cost on average $12,000. That's Republican logic for you. Like, got a costly war and huge budget deficit - giant tax cuts skewed to benefit the rich must be the answer!
