Is there anything for the citizens who don't want to become socialists to do. What should I be doing? I don't want our country on that path and it seems it is.

I assume the presumption is that if Obama becomes president we are headed down the socialist path, whereas with McCain, there would be a return to "rugged capitalism."
oh we got put on that path today with nationalizing mortgage companies, they all should have voted no.
If Obama does get in and the dems maintain their leads in the House and Senate, I think we are in for some real Orwellian style big government. They would nationalize everything if they could and take 90% of your pay. Imagine a government that chooses your car, house, food, and cloths for you.
That would be a dream come true for the liberal elites. I hold out that the American people would never stand for it, and would throw them out before it could happen.
Think of it this way; If Obama does get elected, I think that we will see another Carter-like dip in this country in everything from the military to the economy. People have short memories, and they forget how bad things can be with high taxes, cut down military, and a timid presence in the world.
Americans will want the grown ups in charge again.I agree with you about the bailout--I hate it!
monopolies dont kill capitalism, they are a monopoly cause they can be
Give rewards to big business, have the Fed lower the interest rates to prop up one part of a lousy economy, use deficiet financing to actually pay for the war so the pocketbook patriots don't get upset,
