Yup, McCain is conceding Michigan. He's out. So much for all those pics with him and the auto workers. It turns out even McCain admits the workers don't want him. The workers know that McCain offers no solutions on the economy.

And looking at the larger electoral map you can see why McCain is pulling out of Michigan - he needs his resources to reground in other battleground states where he is also falling dangerously behind.
For people who care about reality, as opposed to dangerous Republican pipe dreams, here are the stats:

Americans want change. Not stunts like picking Palin to try to trick Hillary voters into voting against their interests.

The Michigan debacle for McCain was the biggest news of the week. Not surprising they tried to bury it behind the Palin debate. Palin cannot save McCain. Picking Palin was just another stunt. It is not helping. Americans are taking a tough look at the past 8 years. Are they better off? Is this war in Iraq a good thing? The polls reflect the views of the American people on these issues.
"Most recent polls show growing strength for Obama. Last week, a Detroit Free Press-Local 4 Michigan Poll showed Obama ahead by 13 percentage points -- nearly doubling his lead from a month earlier.
"They're reevaluating what's going on. Obviously, everyone is looking at the numbers," said Rep. Fred Upton, a St. Joseph Republican who is a supporter and friend of McCain. "That's not to say they're not coming back."
McCain campaign manager Rick Davis called former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to tell him of the decision to pull out of Michigan just before Romney -- who grew up in Oakland County -- got on a conference call with reporters Thursday. Romney was holding the call with McCain strategist Doug Holtz-Eakin to raise claims that Obama's policies are no good for Michigan's struggling economy."

Interesting that Palin thinks McCain's move in abandoning Michigan was a mistake. In fact, she had no clue about it until she read about it in the paper. Looks like McCain really respects her opinion LOL!
"Palin questions McCain's concession of Michigan
By JIM KUHNHENN – 17 hours ago
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Sarah Palin questioned Republican presidential candidate John McCain's decision to abandon efforts to win Michigan, a campaign move she only learned about Friday morning when she read it in the newspapers.
In an interview with Fox News Channel Friday, the Alaska governor said she was disappointed that the McCain campaign decided to stop competing in Michigan. In an indication that the vice presidential candidate had not been part of the decision, she said she had "read that this morning and I fired off a quick e-mail" questioning the move."

Confusion reins in the McCain campaign.

She fired of a quick email to the man who doesn't email????
Good catch!

Yeah, I wonder if she flat out lied (that's what liars do, make up a ton of small lies, like her claim her teleprompter was broken in her first speech when it wasn't) or whether McCain is using someone else to read his emails for him - he once said he uses his wife as his secretary. Either way, pretty lame indeed.
