Going more negative

Trailing in the polls with time running out in the race, the McCain/Palin team has decided to go more negative.
Up to this point, they have only thrown the kitchen sink at the Obama/Biden campaign, but look for the campaign to get nastier as we approach election day.
When you are standing on the wrong side of the issues, there is nowhere to go but negative. Rather than present your answers to problems we are faced with following eight years of GWB, it is easier to try to smear your opponent with lies, lies, and more lies.
Expect the mean-spirited McCain to attack, attack, attack in tomorrow night’s debate. He cannot stand on what he knows about the economy, or anything else for that matter. He must try to distort Obama’s record and to try to trash his character.
Fear and smear. Distort and distract. All of this from the Karl Rove playbook. It has worked in the past and McCain/Palin are convinced it will work again.
Palin will be the hatchetwoman for McCain.
Watch out for her attacks on Obama and Biden to get dirtier and dirtier.
Hopefully, voters will continue to focus on the issues, including the economy, heatlh care, and the wars.
We are headed into a big-time recession. We cannot take four more years of what got us into this mess in the first place.

I wish campaigning was more positive all the way around but the campaign has been negative on both sides .. so I am so confused by the outrage of this now.
