>>> Somehow despite that being emailed, played and replayed on television, and watched on youtube, Obama won the nomination against those other politicians. I guess the weight of not having followed the other politicians on the stage wasn't sufficient to deter voters from nominating him.
Barely. The Press was slow in exposing Obama, otherwise Hillary would be your candidate.
Two questions. One: Why did American taxpayers pay for this trip? And two: Why was it reported by CBS News at the time that Obama was supporting Odinga against the incumbent government? Watch this news story about it I found on Youtube:
>>> Then why do they want that vote on those other non-remaining-a-state stances? Why vote at all on the other options if they're satisfied being with Alaska being a state?
If they wanted to secede, you'd think that there would be a drive to get signatures or at very least a lawsuit but...nada. Maybe they feel it's the vote that counts...or maybe they're really more interested in the things that are actually listed on their site rather than what so many on the left wishes were there.
I cannot explain, but it is clear that since Obama was meeting with all the political parties including the government of Kenya that the trip was related to his duties on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
I can't explain all the detail revealed in the video, but I fully agree about Obama's stance that the Kabiki government raid in the newspaper was an assault against the free press.

The business portion was paid for by the US government, and the personal portion was paid for by Obama:

>>> So these folks have no desire to have their State leave the Union, they just want everyone to vote on whether or not to remain?
That seems to be what their website says. Why don't you go there are check it out for yourself?
>>> Is the purpose of such a vote to settle the question of statehood once and for all?
I guess. If you see their site, they seem to be more interested in issues involving Alaska than in actively trying to secede from the union.
The taxpayers paid for Obama to go on that trip to Africa....seems like a waste of money to me.
