Touche! I agree 100% and that is exactly how I feel - well said and thanks for speaking up. I also heard the Republicans have one more rabbit regarding the war, they are going to make it seem worse than it actually is. Every candidate has a weakness right and Obama's would be regading the war - let's hope they don't stoop even that low.

Her son, Track, joined the military as part of a plea bargain related to vandalism he and his friends committed at their high school. It was jail or the military. I guess this is what Sarah was referring to when she observed that her son had joined the military for the "right" reasons.

I'm not sure that's it's desperation speaking here. While I do think that bringing up Ayers is related to McCain slipping in the polls-- and I would say the same thing of any candidate; it's a common political ploy --I think it serves another, more important purpose. The right wing of the party has been very, very angry about Ayers for a very long time. (Read the hundreds of posts on the topic here, or listen to Elisabeth H. on The View mention it at least once a week.) I suspect -- and it's only a suspicion -- that Palin has also been really ticked off about this.
That's not McCain's crowd, but he needs them. I suspect that this would have come up regardless of the polls.
