Well, I guess CNN does stand for the Clinton News Network..but they did report that 0bama's and Ayers relationship was more than what 0bama has stated.

I've tried to find the article again, but the advanced search feature comes up empty with every possible way I try to find my post (I'm finding it's not always reliable, even with searches for recent posts). And doing a google now comes up with way too many hits- so much has been cited on the internet regarding Obama and Wright.

found another

For example, he knew Wright was trouble, which is why he rescinded an invitation to have Wright speak at his campaign launch on Feb. 10, 2007. Now we learn, according to Wright, that he and Obama prayed secretly in the basement of Illinois' Old State Capitol before Obama went outside to speak to the public that day

Wow, that's a great article outlining it, but the one I am refering to quotes Wright.

I've heard a lot of people refer to the AIP as a "fringe" group, but up here it isn't perceived that way because many, even if they don't belong to the AIP and don't agree with all their stands, agree with their stance on less over-all government.

And, throughout many parts of the south, the KKK isn't considered all that "fringe" either: they're just organizing around things that "pretty much everyone thinks." In many parts of the world, Al Qaeda isn't considered "fringe." I suppose it all depends upon perspective.

However, when considering a state-level party in the context of the United States of America, one in which - even by your lights (and I stipulate that you're more familiar with them than I am) has many members who ARE pro-secessionist, and which was founded by an ardent secessionist on the principles of secession, I'd say it's fair to characterize that group within the context of American politics as "fringe." At least as much as a group of 20 year olds during Vietnam who advocated violent confrontation to end America's involvement in the war.

Furthermore (and I'm sure I'll get slammed here for this comment), I think there is a racial undertone in the way that Palin brings this up. IMO, she is clearly connecting the word "terrorist" to Obama. (Notice, I'm not calling anyone a racist.) In our country, terrorists are often thought of as brown-skinned -- like Obama -- and with strange-sounding names -- like Barack Hussein Obama.

this is a good point.

I think I've found out why Obama hasn't been forthright about his relationship with Ayers.
