Anything coming from CrooksandLiars is indeed very questionable.
Sure....you CAN find the news clips elsewhere...but often times, you DON'T. Most of us don't have the time to read through eight or ten newspapers in a day. And that's where sites which function as specialty-aggregators of news like that come in handy. They're not much different from websites which collect news from the world of sports, or other interests, that one might not have the time or knowledge to seek out on one's own. The only difference is that these particular "hobbies," if you will, are geared to a particular political perspective.
There was an incident a few months back where a teacher in Florida was let go for allegedly practicing "witchcraft" for doing a magic trick in class. This is something which interests me somewhat, because it has to do with education and civil rights and the whole church-state issue. But, because it happened in Florida, I doubt seriously whether I would have heard of it, had it not been for a couple of the blogs I read, since I DON'T read Florida newspapers regularly.
It doesn't matter particularly what the details were.....but the news article was excerpted and linked to by the blog, and then they provided some commentary. I'm not sure what the problem with that is. The link to the original article is right there; often it's reprinted or excerpted in full. If not, it's easy enough to go read the whole thing with just one click. The commentary? I suppose you could agree or disagree with that part (in fact, that is what I DO disagree with about most of the very conservative blogs, for various reasons)....but I just can't get that worked up about it. Even on the most conservative blogs, if they've linked to a news article or item somewhere, why is that bad or how is that somehow "not to be trusted?" If what the blog's author is SAYING about the news item is either obviously false, or outright ridiculous or perhaps just something I don't agree with, it'll be pretty obvious pretty quickly. But that doesn't diminish the value of the news item ITSELF.
In this case, they would appear to have discovered, through a public record, that the domain name we've been discussing did indeed re-direct to the Palin video welcome at the McCain web site. Again, I'm pretty sure it would be an AWFUL lot of work to create a FAKE video screen-capture of that nature. I'm sure it could be done, but why on EARTH would anyone bother to spend the kind of time it would take to do such a thing, for the small effect it would likely have? I'll ask again: do you really believe, with your disdain of the trustworthiness of crooksandliars specifically, that it's actually MORE likely that they (or someone they're affiliated with) took the huge amount of time it would have taken to create such a faked video....than it is that the what's posted up there for all to see is actually correct?
I think that the only way Obama will talk about Ayers is if he thinks it will help him win the election. But I don't think it is going to really hurt him. He is made of Teflon to his supporters, they just look the other way when negative stuff comes out about him.
If McCain had this type of association with Ayers, I think he wouldn't even have come close to getting the nomination. And I wouldn't want him in the White House.
Ayers is the type of guy that If
Most of Obama's competition has underestimated him. Including Joe Biden. Big mistake! Obama is smart, and a problem solver - After watching Obama in action and listening to his ideas and plans, Biden admitted that Obama was indeed ready to lead. So did the Clintons. We have minds so that we can change them. Otherwise they would be made of stone...like nah, that's too easy. lol.
Only incumbents that have been EFFECTIVE and SUCCESSFUL POTUS are really "experienced" in the "job", but based on character, plans for America, temperament, intelligence, and strength Obama is so much more qualified to be POTUS than McCain.
