is anyone watching the debate? What do you think so far? Who is 'winning'? They don't seem to be answering many audience questions.

Our self-insured company displeased some of the employees because they sort of acted like an HMO where we had to select a primary care physician and then go to the PCP to get a referral (permission) to visit our specialists.

((It's a pretty common Senate appellation))

With the state of the economy and 2 wars and gas prices, 8 years of common has not worked. Obama offers extraordinary plans for change. The times demand more than "commonness".

Not saying that $500 isn't nice, but a "tax cut" amounts to that $500 being spread over the course of the year...i.e.around $40 a month less taken out of your paycheck...why is anyone getting excited about that piddling increase? Not that anyone's actually getting the "tax cut" of course.

>>> I agree swiftboating did work against Kerry, and it gave us 4 more glorious years of George Bush.

Imagine the horror if Kerry had won. He would have started the Iraq war and then conspired with Hussein against the US. Better off with a President with integrity and convictions.

>>> I wonder if people would be willing for 4 more years of Bushlike governance so that they don't have to fear that William Ayers might have associated with the other candidate.

Obama consorts with low level radicals and terrorists as a community organizer...imagine the hug-fest he'll have with international thugs and terrorists once he's President. Imagine Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the Lincoln bedroom.

>>> People can be pretty stupid,

I guess that explains Obama's poll numbers.

>>> so maybe they'll weigh the choice and think that the guilt-by-association issue is more important than changing the course that Bush has set and McCain seems to want to continue on.

It's pretty pathetic to see that there are so many on the left who have such little concern about the character and judgment of their Presidential candidate...especially when so much hangs in the balance.

>>> Heck, Palin has the base frothed up pretty well with some of the more enthusiastic of her followers calling out "kill him" during political rallies.

I like the "frothing"...but we shouldn't kill Obama...his community needs him.

>>No...Obama has never admitted to being wrong about anything...his ego won't let him. Pretty scary.

"Well, I don't know...you're whole "I don't like Sarah Palin, just because" is a pretty compelling argument, especially when you consider that she's actually run something...like being a Governor of a state with an $11 billion dollar budget...while Obama has experience...um...campaigning. Yes, I can see why an intelligent person would choose the least experienced person as President of the US."

I guess what it boils down to is I don't know why I, as an intelligent person, should choose a ticket that includes Sarah Palin, a person who does not seem very intelligent, to be part of a ticket to run the the country with the largest military in the world. The fact that you seem to overlook this most salient of points makes me question your objectivity. You seem to be doing exactly what you so comfortably accuse me of - falling for the propaganda.

"ow...your support of a guy who wants to add $800 TRILLION in new spending because you're tired of government spending sounds almost as compelling as "I don't like Sarah Palin just because." You're absolutely right, it doesn't sound like you've sucked up the Dem propaganda at all."

Obama wants to add spending, but so does McCain - do we know how much the purchase of bad mortgages on top of the Wall Street Bail Out will be? I do not want to continue to bail out every aspect of the economy, what is next car manufacturers? Airlines? Maybe furniture manufacturers? Perhaps the clothing industry? No I didn't want to bail out any of them.

"You mean the "rescue plan" that was formulated by the Dems and given the thumbs up by Obama? LOL!"

Now you are really stretching, since McCain's stated purpose in suspending his campaign, a very patriotic idea by the way, was to ensure a plan was formulated and accomplished. McCain also voted for the plan so I don't think you can really pin this on one party or on one candidate. Or do you perhaps doubt, as many people seem to, McCain's sincerity in suspending his campaign to help put this plan together? That would explain your cynicism but personally I blame both candidates, McCain more so since he made a show of suspending his campaign to accomplish this.

You can keep bringing Ayers up, but as I have previously stated it is a non-issue for me and just makes me think you are a bit obsessed. I don't intend to keep addressing something I have already stated is a non-issue to me. I respect your right to disagree. Perhaps you are not so willing to allow others that right.
