is anyone watching the debate? What do you think so far? Who is 'winning'? They don't seem to be answering many audience questions.

That would be great! I would love to read what these kids have to say. Hopefully, they won't just parrot their parents. LOL.

>>> What bothered me about McCain, and my 28 yr old son was watching with me and will be voting for the first time, was counting all the times McCain said "My Friends" and "I know how to do that"

It's a pretty common Senate appellation, and with his considerable experience, he probably does know "how to do that."

I think it's fairly common for a candidate to say "when I'm ...", when discussing what they would do if elected. McCain has also said "When I'm president...". Personally, I don't see that as an issue. I do see your point though!

You're right about Obama's health care plan. Under McCain's plan, your employer might decide to stop offering insurance. He plans to cut out the tax break employers get for offering insurance. The average cost for insurance if you get it through your employer, is $12,000/year. It's much, much more if you are unimployed. McCain's $5,000/year he's giving the insurance companies for your family, is just a drop in the bucket of the actual costs. That doesn't even address co-pays for medications. Many people will be underinsured with McCain's proposal.

Which smears has Obama slung at McCain, and particularly which smears has he slung at Palin?

Then why hasn't he done it? These aren't new issues, so he's had time to "do that".

Maybe Obama didn't push for a middle-class tax cut when he got to the senate because at that point the Republicans, who had been in control of both the legislative and executive branches, had already run up such a deficit that Obama thought it would be unwise to push for more tax cuts.

Obama IS intelligent, and after 8 years of dummies I'm ready for a smart change!
