is anyone watching the debate? What do you think so far? Who is 'winning'? They don't seem to be answering many audience questions.

My daughter is having a written/oral debate in her 8th grade class too. I am trying to teach her how to separate fact from fiction.

Watch the Obama campaign's commercials and Obama, himself, on the stump. It's mostly lies.

>>> Then why hasn't he done it?

We haven't elected him king yet.

>>> These aren't new issues, so he's had time to "do that".

He's tried...on many issues...including regulating Freddie and Fannie, but he was blocked by the partisan Dems.

I think the commercials play on youtube and I've seem many played on the news programs along with bits of their speeches. I think even that sampling will show pretty decisively how Obama is trying to attack and smear McCain.

You know the thing about video advertisements that makes them effective is when they sneak up on people during their regular television viewing.

I could disagree with your assessment of viral marketing plans, but in general, I was just making a suggestion where you could find the commercials if you wanted to review their content.

Obama out-shined McCain. Obama was poised, prepared and personable. I wanted more time for him to elaborate on some points, but no such luck. lol. I felt his passion for making healthcare happen, he showed great strength when he said that he will get Bin Laden- very powerful, and his best line of the night...when he shot down McCain's "record" of "responsible talk" by mentioning that McCain sang a song about BOMBING Iran, bragging about BOMBING Baghdad, and I was waiting for "dissing" the pres. of Spain and calling Putin the KGB, but time was short. lol. McCain said look at his record, right? lol.

Anybody else peeved about the format? lol. This was NOT a town hall-style debate. Was everyone on valium/zoloft? lol. I know, they were on their best behavior, but where was the spontaneity? The energy from the crowd? And funny how such predictable questions were selected. Yeah.

Well, McCain blew it when he disrespected Obama by referring to him as "that one". I know he meant to say "the ONE" (yeah right), but he came across as derisive, contemptuous, and clearly not the type of person to lead the country as diverse as the US (he's lost the right to be referred to as a man after that abominable behavior).

((What bothered me about McCain, and my 28 yr old son was watching with me and will be voting for the first time, was counting all the times McCain said "My Friends" and "I know how to do that"))

lol. This urked me as well. May I ask, what was your final count? I was so annoyed I lost count. lol. And why doesn't McCain say how he's going to do ...whatever he knows how to do? AHA! He doesn't really know does he? lol.
