The bill that Obama didn't vote for was the FINAL bill, after all the negotiations had taken place. There is a difference. A BIG difference. If the bill had gone down, the troops would not have been funded.

The bill McCain voted "no" on would not have been the final bill unless there were no changes in either house of congress.

Horse doots.

If that bill had been defeated, another would have been drawn up. No one - repeat, NO one - wants to leave US troops out in the field, in harm's way, without the financial and material support they need. Not Obama, not McCain, not anyone that I've heard of. Even Dennis Kucinich, probably the most strident anti-war Representative in the House, would immediately start withdrawing troops as fast as he could....but he wouldn't leave the ones who were still waiting to be withdrawn without funds or support.

Mrs. McCain "had a cold chill run through her body" when she realized Obama voted against that bill, because he is putting her son at risk. I wonder if she feels the same chills towards Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, et al who sent the

An original bill NEVER goes through both houses of congress without any changes when they are really serious about passing a law. That's how our system works.

You can't tell that by the votes, can you? That was the final bill agreed upon by both houses. Without passage the troops would not have been funded.
