McCain's mortgage buyout plan

What do you think of John McCain's proposal to spend 300 billion dollars in federal funds to buy distressed mortgages?

If the 300 billion would be part of the 700 billion dollar package, then why didn't McCain think of that when he "suspended" his campaign to focus on the 700 billion plan? Back when McCain suspended his campaign, all he did was throw a giant rock into the already roiled markets by stalling the plan for a week.
Anyway, where are the details on this 300 billion plan?? It looks to me like McCain is just spouting off again.
This statistic bothers me, these people are included in any bail out plan for homeowner's.
Yep, and that last bipartisan effort sure was helpful wasn't it.

I definitely can't say that I'm sold on McCain's plan to buy the mortgages, but I don't see another option being discussed at this point. I mean, did Obama come up with any ideas? Or did he just vote "present" like usual?
Yes, we should be blaming the banks for providing the loans, and a Times article during the Clinton administration in 1999
