McCain trying to change tone of rallies

It looks like McCain might be listening after all about all the negativity at his rallies:

Actually, it was McCain's and Palin's actions that raised these "negative and fearful" feelings and sentiments on the campaign trail. They set the tone of the rallies with their lies and they allowed it to escalate. So, for McCain to suddenly "realize" that their crowds are becoming negative, is simply bull.

They're plan was to raise suspicions about Obama and guess what, mission accomplished. Now, some people are gullible and/or naive enough to believe that McCain is a "hero" and saving the day? NOT. He created the conditions on the ground (to use an analogy that he could understand).

But for their actions, these rallies would not be soooo full of hate and fear. Just like the movie, The Accused...McCain and Palin, and to some degree Cindy McCain should be held responsible for the crowd's descent into a mob.

I'm sorry but the McCain rallies are a 5th grade slumber party compared to the left's actions at the RNC.

"Kill him"

"Off with his head"

"Terrorist"

My 5th grader wouldn't be allowed to sleep over your 5th grader's house.

>>I'm sorry but the McCain rallies are a 5th grade slumber party compared to the left's actions at the RNC. I couldn't believe what I saw in those videos during the RNC. That is what has amazed me by this media attention on McCain's rallies. Again shows media hypocrisy.<<

You're missing the point. It isn't "Oh my goodness, these people at the Republican rallies are being so inappropriate!" It's that the McCain/Palin strategy of hinting that Obama pals around with terrorists and is of questionable character/not "American" enough is coming back to bite them in the ass. It was clearly a bad tactic. Suggesting that Kerry was a silly windsurfer who had lied about his military service might have worked in 04, but suggesting that Obama is a terrorist just leaves a bad taste in most reasonable Americans's mouths.

But to your point (off as it might be), quite frankly, holding up a sign that says "McCain Votes Against Vets" is really not the same thing as calling a candidate a terrorist. I thought those protests at the RNC were a bit disrespectful, but I wasn't overtly offended by their message. People are entitled to express their feelings (even ignorant racists).

True. Let's see if their ads change at all. McCain's "we need to be respectful" was a good start, but unless their ads change, it's all a bunch of BS.

I'd certainly like to see that happen, but I don't think it will.

Exactly. They need to get on top of it, like yesterday!
