Let's hear it for Mayor Bloomberg!

I am a big supporter of Obama and critic of the fops (Fox-Republican officials and politicians), and I say what's up with those who don't want Bloomberg elected as NYC's mayor again?
Just as much as the Bush/McCain deserve to be thrown out of Washington for a job terribly done, Bloomberg deserves another term for a job well done.

"He is, in any case, wildly popular, with approval ratings at around 70 percent."
Where is the anger?? Bloomberg is a great mayor. How many NYC mayors don't have most of NYC hating them by the end of their first year? Zero.
America needs Bloomberg keeping order in the world's financial center.

Yes, that is what I am talking about.
"Also, I have no idea who is even interested in running."
That is the problem. New York City cannot afford another David Dinkins.
And as to those who somehow attribute Wall Street's woes on Bloomberg, think again. He doesn't regulate Wall Street. Many have suggested he should.
He has run the City in a responsible manner and its finances are in order. It is a very rare mayor indeed who New Yorkers don't hate and grouse about. You have to do an excellent job to achieve that.
>>who's more popular is irrelevant<<
It's not entirely irrelevant. If he is so popular that people would be happy to have him be mayor again, they should. If someone is doing well at a tough job during tough times, does it really make sense to throw the baby out with the bathwater every eight years?
I don't think it's fair to say this is an attempt at becoming a king -- it's not like this term limits law has been long-standing or is something that every city has. (My brother was a baby when Menino was elected in Boston and now he's almost done with high school...) My impression of Bloomberg is that he doesn't do this job because he's power hungry but because he believes in public service and that he owes this to the city. And as someone pointed out, NOBODY wants a Dinkins again.
Anyway, as I said, I'm torn
