To McCain's credit, he said to boos the other day that people don't need to be scared about Obama being elected President, that Obama is a family man, and that Obama is not an Arab.

McCain's conscience is catching up with the hatred he has whipped up.

Obama has disavowed Lewis' remarks, which is positive as they are way over the top. McCain has been making a concerted effort to tone things down, which is positive.

McCain is caught in a trap of his own making. He tapped Palin both to try to cherry pick Hilary's supporters and to also throw red meat to the lunatic fringe of the party. As a result, though, Palin in whipping up the lunatic fringe, is turning off both independents and Republican moderates. McCain is going to lose as a result.

I suspect he knows this and at this point he is trying to keep the crazies from completely foaming at the mouth. I'm wondering if he's having second thoughts about leading a party whose members are capable of the lies and smears that have been pouring out of the right wing.

Not that this is going to change anything. When Obama is elected I suspect we'll see the same thing as when Clinton was elected-the right wing ready to harm the country if it means harming Obama. We are in for a really interesting 4 years of right wing "morality" and "family values", similiar to the "traditional values that made this country great" that they showed in South Carolina in 2000.

“There are millions of people around this world praying to their god—whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah—that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons. And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they’re going to think that their God is bigger than you, if that happens,” said Arnold Conrad, the former pastor of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Davenport.

The irony is that they are all Avatars of the same Creative Force. I doubt that the Creative Force has as big an ego as Conrad.

It's all McCain has left. Having long since lost a narrative to run on, they've resorted to the Kitchen Sink strategy as Hillary ran last spring. That the race is still 8-12 points is pretty amazing.

Just an uninspiring, lying snake of a Candidate is McCain and I think we're finally seeing them meltdown once and for all.
