I tried to use the search function to find my answers from about a year ago, but can't get it to work for me. However, if memory serves me, my answers are still the same.


1. Laws that standardize accounting methods. No one can tell exactly what business is worth because the rules are so damn loose. I wrote that thinking of Worldcom and Enron. My thoughts on this haven't changed. In fact, the events of the last month have reenforced them. We label cans of food, mileage on cars, and movies, for crying out loud. Standardize accounting methods. Even the big money boys can't tell what it is they have. Once we have this, sorting out the winners and losers in the business area will be lot easier. Not foolproof, but better.


2. Government sponsered exploration of

In no particular order...

1. Healthcare for all.

2. Safe and legal abortions.

3. A sensical withdrawal from Iraq.

4. A clear and sustainable plan in Afghanistan.

5. Civil rights for gays and lesbians.

6. A clear and sustainable national plan for HIV/AIDS.

7. A clear and sustainable plan for the economy.

8. Re-regulating various industries, including utilities (usually done at the state level) and financial institutions.

9. Greater support for working parents, including educational opportunities and childcare.

10. Ending the war on drugs.

11. Getting rid of unfunded mandates.

12. A clear and sustainable plan for energy independence, including conservation and alternative fuels (but excluding off-shore and AWAR drilling).

For me right now...it's the economy and all that the economic issues relate to like financial markets, jobs, healthcare insurance, tax policy, education/training

not in any particular order:



  1. Government Spending

  2. Health Care

  3. Getting out economy out the ditches

  4. A plan to get us our of Iraq and Afghanistan

  5. A less partisan government

  6. Stiffer laws for sex offenders and other violent crime offenders

Reviving the economy is most important, and I trust Obama to surround himself with the right advisers to accomplish it in such a way that the lower-and middle-class citizens will not be left behind.
