This Question Is For Women Only

I’m just wondering where the majority of women on this board are regarding some pretty basic matters as it relates to being a woman.

If a man shares your point of view politically, is it OK for you, as a woman, to disregard condescending, disrespectful, or sexist attitudes and remarks made by him toward women? If so, please explain. I am very curious.

Even if someone shares my views politically speaking, it would not mean that I would find other aspects in his life so correct. We are all human and by human nature, we all have different views of life in general. Regardless of what the view is on, albeit political or personal, it does not give anyone any right to be disrespectful to anyone at any time. I assume you are talking off the board experience, because otherwise it would be a TOS violation for someone to make sexist remarks on here.

Well I grew up in the south so to me calling a woman honey or dear is not condescending. In fact I call people honey or dear all the time. Why would that be condescending?

If it was done is a mean way maybe it could be considered condescending, but as a regular thing, I don't think so.

No. I'm not talking about the candidates, although I'm sure we can find a few instances from the men at least.

Why are you so angry? I am genuinely curious about this and would like honest answers. It is not a trick question.

I agree with you. I don't think it's ever appropriate to be disrespectful to others. IT wouldn't matter to me whether I agreed with them politically or not.

chilly, maybe this would have been better posted on the moms and politics board? I think on this board, it is so politically speaking and left/right that no matter what, if someone is on one "side", any post from the opposite "side" is seen as an attack automatically. Or a hidden agenda, or a personal motive, instead of a general honest question. I'm sure on the mom board, you would have gotten more positive response to the question instead of attacked for asking what your personal agenda is on this topic.

I'm uncertain if you are familiar with my writings over time, but if you are, there is probably no need for me to state my view. Basically, I'll call out sexism no matter where it originates.
