This Question Is For Women Only

I’m just wondering where the majority of women on this board are regarding some pretty basic matters as it relates to being a woman.

If a man shares your point of view politically, is it OK for you, as a woman, to disregard condescending, disrespectful, or sexist attitudes and remarks made by him toward women? If so, please explain. I am very curious.

The immediate aftermath of Palin's nomination as vp was not the left's most shining moment, and the criticism was quite justified - I was very annoyed with some of my leftist colleagues.

Left and right may not agree, but folks, this is a political difference. We are not each other's enemies, though there are times I look at this board and think some believe that.

>>No. I'm not talking about the candidates, although I'm sure we can find a few instances from the men at least.<<

It is a general discussion is it not, with political implications? You seem to be upset that I asked the question. Why? Do you have an opinion about this topic? If so, why not just state what it is. If you don't fine, why are you posting to the thread?

That's funny, some of his male supporters do the same thing! Interesting.

In the 2004 elections, a Politics Today CL, at the time, chose to start several threads "for Republicans only". The implicit exclusivity was as obnoxious then as it is now.

This is an open board for ALL iVillage members.
