>>> Why are we to believe this any more than the 30 year old illusion of trickle down economics? More likely, you're just towing the party line.
Have you ever owned a business? I have. The whole purpose of business is to grow and the only thing that matters is the bottom line. Now, you can imagine that businesses are charities, but they aren't...they have one goal...profit. When the price of doing business went up (taxes included) our costs went up to compensate...we have bills to pay, after all. And when we were more successful, we bought new equipment and tried to grow the company. It's really a simple formula.
If Obama raises taxes...the cost is going to be past on to you to the point the company can still be competitive. After that...it'll downsize and try to increase productivity with a smaller workforce.
>>> Anything good, is built from the ground up.
Most businesses are built from the ground up...they're the "ground" of the economy. Obama's "tax cuts" will amount to around a $50-100 increase for most households. Oh, my gosh, where on where will you spend the extra dough? For individuals, it will probably mean paying a little extra on their credit card bill...imagine the economic stimulus! But when a business gets a tax increase prices go up...which will eat up that measly $50-100 in a heartbeat...or jobs will be lost...in which case, you won't be paying taxes to get the cut.
So we should just get rid of corporate/small business taxes altogether, right? And the owners and shareholders will create all the jobs we poor folk need after handsomely rewarding themselves. We've seen how trickle-down works on Wall Street and we say, "No thank you!"
I'd rather government create the jobs in the public sector and to hell with the greedy business owners. Socialism is looking pretty good to me these days, compare to the Capital-greedy-ME-ism we've been seeing lately!

Their costs and losses will be passed directly down to "main street" in the form of higher prices and job losses.

You are aware of the term Bush Sr. and his colleagues used to use? Voodoo economics.

>>> Face it, the 30 year old dream of trickle down economics hasn't proven to work for me and the vast majority of middle-class/lower income people.
In the last 30 years, haven't we seen steady economic growth, low inflation and low unemployment? Exactly where has "trickle down economics" hurt you?
Where are you getting your figures?
