let me preface this by saying I personally think all the hoopla around him not being eligible to run for office is bunk .... but it does make me wonder, 'what if'?
What if in the next few days it's determined he's NOT eligible?

Frankly, I think this thread is bunk.

gotcha --
it does me too actually.
seems like a waste of energy -- if they are really that opposed to him, then argue against his policies.
There are people who are truly naive enough to believe most of the lies and distortions about Obama. I get e-mails from a person I had a lot of respect for. She is an older woman from Arizona, and of course supports McCain. she sends me the lies and distortions in e-mails that he is a Muslim and we are living in "end times" and the Blessed mother wants us to pray that McCain wins. OY VEY!
Agreed.
On talking issues... I watch a local race - incumbent Carol Shea-Porter vs Jeb Bradley. Carol bested Bradley 2 years ago, and he wishes to have the seat back... anyway, his commercials are vicious.
And then you see Carol's ads. She is setting there talking on issues, talking right to the voters. She is the most decent human being I've ever seen run in this state, and so hope she wins again. Having someone who was a social worker in Congress is a huge thing for those who have little chance of being heard.

<<... but I can't help but wonder what the process is if someone is determined ineligible late in the game or after the win.>>
I would imagine. that's what the VP is for.
....but I agree....it IS bunk.
Duties
The formal powers and role of the vice president are limited by the Constitution to becoming President should the President become unable to serve (e.g. due to the death, resignation, or medical impairment of the President) and acting as the presiding officer of the U.S. Senate. As President of the Senate, the Vice President has two primary duties: to cast a vote in the event of a Senate deadlock and to preside over and certify the official vote count of the U.S. Electoral College. For example, in the first half of 2001, the Senators were divided 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats and Dick Cheney's tie-breaking vote gave the Republicans the Senate majority. (See 107th United States Congress.)"
