One of the good things about being on the correct committees and having lobbyist friends is the perks.

The McCains chose to live out there on their remote ranch.

yuh ... and I'd imagine both companies are getting quite a bit of money back on phones and phone plans ... I know how much just 4 phones costs us.

Wonder what Verizon and AT&T customers think. Maybe they will have their phone bills increased.

Personally I think it's great that those in that area now will have cell coverage. The media can actually report from there, too if the need arises. And how fantastic is it that Verizon and ATT will get new customers, those that live in the area who would like a cell phone that don't have coverage. The only downfall I see with this article is that the tower is portable, meaning it's not a permanent structure, and if McCain doesn't win, will most likely be taken down after the fact. Too bad either company doesn't build one that is permanent to vest interest in the people in that area. I'm sure a portable one isn't going to be passed down in cost to the people because it is just that, portable.

I can't imagine Verizon or AT&T putting a permanent tower there.
