I was under the impression Sara Palin's child had downs not autism. How could he keep screwing this up?

It isn't an issue for a child to be in his father's arms.

You make it sound like you aren't involved much, I'm sure that isn't the case.

"One of her platforms is special needs families."

I am disgusted at that. The Republicans have set back so many special needs families for years by halting stem cell research. We know from the appropriately disgruntled White House faith based advisor David Kuo who quit and wrote a tell all that Karl Rove was walking around the White House calling the religious right "nuts" while he pandered to them on this and other issues. Seems to me that the best time to heal kids with stem cells would be when they are kids. Now we've lost 8 years.

"As a mother of an autistic child I don't believe she understands it better than anyone else if she is not actually dealing with it."

In any event, how much time has Palin spent with her baby, who isn't even different from other kids yet? That is not a knock on Palin. She just hasn't experienced living with a special needs kid. She hasn't even gone through the denial, loss and shock phases. Her heart may even be in the right place. She just doesn't really know first hand what she's talking about on this topic yet.

That is a good point, however, not all true.
