The problem is Obama will take $1 from Joe the Plumber and maybe end up giving a few pennies to someone in need. Big government doesn't work. When Carter left the White House he left a double digit jobless rate and high inflation. Reagan cut taxes across the board and jobs crew and inflation fell, meanwhile federal tax revenues ONLY dropped 1%. Obama says he's going to return to the Clinton/Reagan tax rates but that's not true, he's going to significantly increase payroll taxes and this will double the impact of his increase in the top marginal tax rate.

Last time I checked….I was single, no dependents, 23 years old, living on my own, attending college (which I pay out of pocket) and I work for a government agency making close to $50,000. Our differences are very clear!!! No question they may be the same one day but don’t patronize me because they are not. The same way certain issues are presently forefront for you is the same for me. There needs to be a balance. The upper class and republicans

The problems today were not caused by the tax rate being low, they were caused by spending being too high and mortgage companies being able to securitize loans, offering more subprime so people were in homes they couldn't afford and fannie and freddie take on too much subprime.

It won't be fixed by raising taxes and spending even more.

I think Mccain's reasoning of buying the loans is in some way to increase the value of homes.

Think about this. The wealthy can buy up a lot of the forclosed homes. OR while home prices are down, buy them up and wait until the market improves and then sell them for a profit.

When I imagine what I'd do with my millions after winning the lottery (lol)......I always think of the less fortunate and how I could help them with my millions.

Me too, I would like to win the lottery so I would be able to help some people out, besides my family. I would like to have the extra money incase of a severe illness, the security of having some extra for that very reason. I would not be bellyaching about paying the tax on it either!

I agree with private individuals helping but a Government saying oh hold on now you have made too much we need to give so much money to someone else is ridiculous.
