This link appears to be down and as the story is breaking google news have not yet reported it but I’ll get a better one as soon as possible.

In college Obama was a member of the Black Panthers
by Mark Russean
Associated Press
While in his first two years at Columbia University in 1979-80, presidential candidate Barack Obama was a member of the Black Panthers, as discovered by the Associated Press. Recently disclosed documents from the organizations rosters has shown that Obama was a member for two years before leaving the organization.
Obama was not an officer in the organization but he did attend Panther meetings on average of once a month. The Black Panther organization did not maintain an office on the premises of the university but was located about 1.5 miles from the campus in a small house in nearby Southern Harlem. The notes from one meeting entitled “beat the crackas at their own game” has Obama’s signature at the bottom of the meetings’ logs.
The Obama campaign has not returned questions on this breaking story, but we expect a reaction soon as more details on this story emerge.

The point is that Obama will raise the corp taxes and the consumer will pay it. Where they rank in comparison to the rest of the world doesn't change the point.

And, of course, corporations don't really pay any taxes, people do. So thanks, Barack, I can't wait to pay more taxes!

Here's a little more info on corp taxes paid by one of our big, bad oil companies...

Over the last three years, Exxon Mobil has paid an average of $27,000,000,000 annually in taxes.

According to IRS data for 2004, the most recent year available:

Total number of tax returns: 130 million

Number of Tax Returns for the Bottom 50%: 65 million

>>> McCain is constantly dragging his name through the mud, making accusations that Obama then has to address, getting everyone sidetracked from the real issues at hand.

Obama's inexperience and Marxist policies are real issues.

Why is it so hard for McCain to stick to telling America what he plans to do as president and stop his constant smear fest?

Because Obama's character and judgment are very important considerations when voting for a President.

>>> but what I really want to know is what they are going to do to fix our economy & end the Iraq war?

You don't know both McCain's and Obama's positions on the economy and the war? Do you own a television?

The NBC link appears to be a dead link. Bobby Rush, of the US Congress IS a former Black Panther, and Obama did run for his seat in 2000, but lost.

I disagree. Corporations should pay taxes like everyone else, particularly

McCain has extensive military experience as well as decades of legislative experience covering the economy, domestic policy and foreign policy.

Obama, on the other hand, has no military experience, no foreign policy experience, no domestic policy experience and about a year of national legislative experience...in other words, no experience at all relative to the Presidency. Even his running mate says he doesn't have the experience to be President. He's also been completely wrong on every issue that popped up in the past year.

No, and Canadians and Europeans should be very concerned because with an Obama presidency there will be no place for THEM to run.
