It is very easy to "think outside the box" when you are spending someone else's money.

Sorry to hear that you are so overworked, and I do sincerely commend you for your dedication to serving the poor. If you need to cut back on your hours to preserve your own health, by all means do so. If it worsens the shortage of surgeons in your area, I guess it proves our health care system is no better than Canada's or the European countries with nationalized medicine. We have waiting lists, too, don't we?

If I were a surgeon working as hard as you, I know I'd be pissed that the CEOs in the financial sector make millions and then we all have to bail out their companies. Still, with a salary in excess of $250,000 I know I'd be willing to pay a little more in tax seeing how so many families are struggling to provide the basic necessities for their children. But you do what you've got to do.

Really? How inventive was it for the current administration to spend 3 Trillion dollars on an unwarranted war?

How many of your surgeries would that cover?

Again, you obviously didn't read what I said....I said if you stay in school, stay off drugs and alcohol, don't have babies out of wedlock...you can do anything you want in America. Most of the inner city kids ARE using drugs and alcohol. Most DO have babies out of wedlock. Most DO drop out of school. It's so much easier to collect a welfare check than go to work everyday.

It isn't easy. And why should it be? The problem with Democrats is they want everything handed to them. They want somebody else to take care of them. They blame others for their failures. It's so easy to blame the rich, isn't it?

The problem with democrats is that they have no personal accountability. Their failures are always somebody else's fault.

Come to think of it....maybe the democrats are on to something. If Obama gets elected....I'll quit my job....he'll take care of me...right?

Shay_in_denver - thank you for that post. I have gotten a few dismissive posts here because I am also a republican of many years who is voting for Obama. Seems the republicans on this board don't understand that some of us are tired of the new breed of republicans. Your post was a thoughtful well articulated description of why many of us have joined in support of Obama. Thank you for posting.

I would say that our health care system isn't

Your post doesn't make any sense, but I suspect that you are under the mistaken impression that I'm a supporter of John McCain.

A pox on both of their houses.
