Would we be having this discussion/complaining if Bush hadn't given massive tax cuts to the top 5% of earners, who actually OWN 75% of all the wealth in our nation? Had Bush only given the cuts to corporations/businesses so they could have given more jobs, not sent them overseas? Had he given a higher percentage to the Middle class so they could have continued to buy cars, etc? The massive tax cuts created massive greed, it didn't trickle down one iota. Who is going to pay for the wars? this huge trillion dollar debt?

Now here's another variation on your story...

Instead of cutting his pay to $1,000,000 and giving his employees raises, the government took the $4,000,000 in taxes.

Some of this was paid to people who didn't work at all.

You story is a nice fable, but it doesn't work in real life.

Successful companies will compete for the best employees with competitive wages.

A couple things on your "story".

I think you would find it difficult to find a company that pays it's CEO $5 million with only 400 employees. Use 4000 and your math will look different.

That is not always the case. A factory in my area did try that, shift some jobs to Mexico. But company they were sub-contracting for didn't like the quality of the product they were having made in Mexico. All those jobs came back.
