Biden now has joined the frenzy to cut down Joe the plumber.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14632.html

Obama has said, "How many plumbers do you know that make over $250,000?" Brilliant.

Biden and Obama might want to check with the small business association to learn what a small business is. Plumbing companies making up to $14 million are small businesses. But according to Biden and Obama there are no plumbing companies making over $250,000 and 98% of all small businesses make under $250,000.

Why do Biden and Obama think tearing down Joe the plumber somehow lifts them up? Imagine how many Joe the plumbers there are out there that find the way he is being treated by Biden and Obama offensive. Keep up your arrogance Biden and Obama, your true character is showing.

The fact is most plumbing small business owners don't make that. I am the daughter of a plumber that owned his own business. The truth is this individual has decided to use his 15 minutes of fame to spout off his conversavtive viewpoint. That is his right but when you do that you open yourself up to critism. The fact is he isn't even a plumber he does not have a license. The owner of the company does and legally he will need to get his license. He is worried about buying a business and being taxed more if he makes $250,000 but right now he only makes $40,000 and the business he is speaking of makes $100,000 per year. He will benefit under Obama's tax plan.

This is a man that asked a question and never thought he would be thrust into the national spotlight. He has made the choice to speak out to the media on many issues. When someone makes that choice they open themselves up to critism and a deeper look into their past like the fact he owes $1,200 in back taxes and isn't even registered to vote.

This has been said repeatedly in other threads, but you said it very nicely indeed.

Do you have a link to back that up that statement?

Do you have a link that proves this is true?

I see your point, an average Joe shouldn't dare to ask Obama a question about his policy or he'll open himself up for personal attack by Obama and Biden. Nice.

For the taxes here is a link showing what he owes in taxes:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20081016/pl_bloomberg/ac4j3t5s_eq_1

Considering the business he wants to buy makes $100,000 per year I think he is putting the horse on worrrying what he will be taxed. He should get his license first that should be the main concern not more than doubling profits.

The point is not ask Obama or Biden a question and get attacked. I was referring to all of the tv interviews he did yesterday (more interivews than Sarah Palin as done, I know joke said many times but I couldn't resist). In those interviews he spoke of his opinion on many things including the war. It is those conversations with the media he choose to do that open him up to critism. He has the right to say what ever he wants but it doesn't mean he won't be critisized.

Here's how the whole Joe the Plumber bruhaha started.

From NBC's Mark Murray
McCain makes the first aggressive move of the evening, bringing up a conversation Obama had with an Ohio plumber. McCain and the right have seized onto this part of the conversation: "I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody."

But here's the entire context of the exchange, per NBC/NJ's Athena Jones:

From two days ago, Obama canvassing in Holland, Ohio:
Then a big, bald man with a goatee asks if he believes in the American dream. He tells Obama he’s getting ready to buy a company that makes more than $250,000 a year. “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?”

Obama tells him he’d get a 50% tax credit – a cut in taxes for health care. “if your revenue is above 250 – then from 250 down, your taxes are going to stay the same. It is true that from 250 up – from 250 – 300 or so, so for that additional amount, you’d go fro 36 to 39%, which is what it was under Bill Clinton. And the reason why we’re doing that is because 95% of small businesses make less than 250. So what I want to do is give them a tax cut. I want to give all these folks who are bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less, I want to give them a tax cut. And so what we’re doing is, we are saying that folks who make more than 250 that that marginal amount above 250 – they’re gonna be taxed at a 39 instead of a 36% rate.”

The man says he’s a hard working plumber for 15 years – why should he be taxed more?

Obama says, “over the last 15 years, when you weren’t making 250, you would have been given a tax cut from me, so you’d actually have more money, which means you would have saved more, which means you would have gotten to the point where you could build your small business quicker than under the current tax code. So there are two ways of looking at it – I mean one way of looking at it is, now that you’ve become more successful through hard work – you don’t want to be taxed as much.”

The man says, “Exactly.”

Obama contined, “But another way of looking at it is, 95% of folks who are making less than 250, they may be working hard too, but they’re being taxed at a higher rate than they would be under mine. So what I’m doing is, put yourself back 10 years ago when you were only making whatever. 60 or 70. Under my tax plan you would be keeping more of your paycheck, you’d be paying lower taxes, which means you would have saved down to the point where you (inaudible). Now look, nobody likes high taxes. Of course not. But what’s happened is is that we end up – we’ve cut taxes a lot for folks like me who make a lot more than 250. We haven’t given a break to folks who make less, and as a consequence, the average wage and income for ordinary folks, the vast majority of Americans, has actually gone down over the last 8 years. So all I want to do is – I’ve got a tax cut. The only thing that changes is I’m gonna cut taxes a little bit more for the folks who are most in need and for the 5% of the folks who are doing very well

And just so it can FOREVER be put to rest who brought Joe's name up and made an issue out of the man here is that portion of the transcript copied right off of FOX News.

Do you have a link for this?

Giving his opinion on any issues he wants to talk about does not make it okay for Obama and Biden to talk negatively about him. This is not okay and it's incredibly arrogant on Obama and Biden's part.

It doesn't matter if the plumber is asking a question based on his current income or a dream he's working toward. It was a legitimate question and one that I'm sure many small business owners wanted to hear answered and wanted to hear why their wealth needs to be "spread around".

Neil Cavuto is discussing this .... he says the biggest sin Joe made was to question the wisdom of BO. I think he's right.
