More bad judgment, and bad character.

I'd rather vote for an intelligent snob than someone whose actions show that he really thinks the American people are stupid.

Until five years ago, I lived in the Bay Area - San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland - for almost twenty years (19 and change). I’m pretty well familiar (more than you, it sounds) with salaries and real estate costs out there.

And yes, even in the valley, $250k/yr is on the wealthy end of things. Just because you're in close proximity with people who make far MORE than that, doesn't mean it isn't still wealthy.

"Just one of the folks?"

John McCain wears shoes that cost $550/pr. How many other "folks" do that?

Obama did NOT mock Joe the plumber. The Obama hates have taken one sentence out an entire speech CUT IN HALF, and are ciruclating it on the internet. This is a LIE of ommission.
I have posted links to different sites that give the ENTIRE quote, not just half a sentence, as well as a video of the ENTIRE speech.

Cutting a sentence in half changes the whole meaning. Of course, these lies of omission are what I have come to expect from the Obama haters.

How exactly does that change what I said?

No, thanks.....I'm quite up to date on the prices of real estate out there.

Your friend - at $250,000 - is not "middle class," in Santa Clara or anywhere else.

That neither of these things is consistent with being "just one of the folks." It's a sham to think that someone married to a woman who paid more in TAXES last year than most people EARN in TEN is "just one of the folks." It's the same tired and false bill of goods we were sold regarding Connecticut-born, Yale-and-Harvard-educated, son-of-a-President George W. Bush. He is no more "one of the folks" than the Queen of England. Or John Edwards. Or John McCain.
