John Edwards is no longer running - bringing him up is just a deflection and does nothing to further the discussion. May as well say Arnold spends $400 on shoes as well.
But don't you think that is exactly what the McCain/Palin campaign wants? Keep people focused on stupid, pointless, unprovable details so they don't question his stance on the economy?
Well it is interesting that the signatures dont' actually match. Maybe you should call the Waldorf Astoria and ask if they are in the habit of posting customer receipts online. I imagine it would be very bad for business. Ever heard of photo shop?
Does it really matter what she ate or when she ate it or why she ate it? The woman has made a lot of money in her own right - she"
has had a high power career. What do you think Cindy McCain eats? How about the cost of the dress she wore for the republican convention?
"Thanks to the calculator-savvy fashion dept. over at Vanity Fair, we've got an estimated grand total for Cindy McCain's outfit from Tuesday evening's Republican National Convention festivities. The final cha-ching? $300,000. Highlights include her Oscar de la Renta fierce-collared shirtdress, a pair of $280,000 diamond sparklers and Chanel's J12 white ceramic watch. The shoes have yet to be identified -- any guesses readers? (I'm betting Manolo.)"
Michelle's DNC dress? "Want to own a Thakoon and campaign for yourself? Right now, this similar Thakoon floral "Inside-Out" dress on the right is available at eLuxury.com for $1,250."
So really, unless you spend over $1000 for a dress neither of them are exactly 'just like us' but which is closer? I can't afford $300,00 for a house let along to dress for one night. Don't forget Cindy's 8 houses - still think she is 'just regular folks'?
idramamama, I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I read the quote, I understand and I don't think BO was putting down JTP. Really, he's going to laugh at an "average Joe" blue collar worker 2 weeks before an election? Sure, why not throw the whole election away? Hand it to McCain on a silver platter!
Anyway, the blogger felt the same way I did: "Given the Bittergate fiasco and his image as an elitist, would The One really crap on a profession as quintessentially blue-collar as plumbing in a public setting, especially with the election so close? In context, I’m not even sure that the line about making a quarter mil a year is aimed at Wurzelbacher."
I tried to explain to some people a little while back with Bill Ayers. It was taken out of context when he was asked if he would do all again or whatever and he said that he felt he didn't do enough everyone was saying he was unrepentant and wanted to do more bombing. Sure say that so that you will be on top of the FBI's list whenever the fire alarm goes off accidentally at a federal building. Anyway, I explained that the line was taken out of context, provided a link but it did no good. Lucky for me, I have 3 kids and I'm used to not being listened to so it really isn't a big deal.
BTW, it doesn't matter if it's the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, Daily Kos or the National Enquirer as long as it's true and verified.

I was not trying to put her down. I was simply pointing out that John McCain may buy expensive shoes, but the Obamas are just as guilty when it comes to spending money (Obama is guilty of so much more, but that is such a long list; I don't have the time to type it all. lol.).
All that aside, why is it that no matter what Obama does, you people look to him like he is a god? He is best buddies with a terrorist, he lies whenever he speaks, and he thinks healthcare should be a RIGHT?!! That is insane. We are not socialists. This is not Canada. I almost cannot blame Obama for always lying, it is so easy. You people feed into his hype.
OK that wasn't what I got from her post but I'll take your word for it. Kind of silly to worry who had what for lunch. How does that help either campaign or us?
He is NOT best buddies with Ayers, he has worked with him on a few charity boards.
I have done charity work too, but I don't consider any of the people I have worked with to be friends, and I don't investigate their background and refuse to work for the charity based on what some at the charity group did .
If you don't like lies, you should not say that Obama is best buddies with Ayers because he is NOT.
I don't think spending money is anything that either party is "guilty" of. They are both well off. They are both going to have a lifestyle that reflects that.
I don't expect McCain to buy his shoes at Payless anymore than I expect the Obama's to eat KFC.
You don't think McCain is lying? Seriously? And no I don't look at him like he is a god - he wasn't even my first choice. I just think, out of the choices I have left, he is the best choice. The more I see from McCain the less impressed I am. I did consider voting for him briefly - until Hillary threw her support behind Obama. To be honest I didn't really look at him much in the primary, but since then I have been impressed by his calmness and his obvious intellect. Since the economic meltdown I have seen McCain as a bit erratic and impulsive. I don't think those are qualities that will serve our country very well over the next months and years that it will take to rebuild our economy. I also fear that McCain, in his quest for the White House, is burning bridges.
