Actually what Obama said was something along the lines of that McCain wants us to believe that he is fighting for a plumber.

But his quote was INTENTIONALLY cut in half to make it sound like Obama was mocking the plumber when in FACT, he was mocking the idea that McCain was fighting for a plumber. The point is that McCain is fighting for the wealthy. Hence the question "How many plumbers do you know that make over $250,000 a year.

Talk about taking something out of context. Most half sentences have very different meanings than the whole sentence. Heck one sentence taken out of a paragraph has a very different meaning, but cutting a sentence in half ?????? Talk about your lies of omission.

Open your eyes, democrats. This is the guy you want to vote for. He gets asked a legitimate question about taxes and looks bad because of his answer. And what happens? The media and democrats attack this guy, within 24 hours they are digging up everything they can on him.

Instead of trying to explain their stance on the issue, they are trying to destroy the guy because he asked a question that they didn't like. They are ripping through his life and trying to ridicule him.

There's Obama and Biden, showing their true colors

Obama imediately answered his question, and very respectfully. I did not see Obama attacking him in his answer. (he said a lot more than "spread the wealth" but that is all the McCain supporters are focusing on) It is not Obama's fault that this guy decided to milk his 15 miniutes of fame and the press did their job and reported on it.

Besides, I don't think this man is being "destroyed" by revelations that he owes slightly more than a thousand in back taxes (which most accounts I have read about admit he might not have even known about) and that he is unlicensed. If it is true that he doesn't need a license since he works under a licensed plumber, than he will not be destroyed by this revelation. If indeed he does need a licence, than any consequences he faces as a result of not having a needed license are his fault, not the fault of a messenger.

Obama never ordered the press to do any of these things, so why are you blaming him for this ? If Joe the plumber doesn't want the publicity, then he should stop talking to the press.

BTW, to change the subject, I don't think "Joe the plumber" is a "creep" as some posters on this board have called him. I don't think there is anything wrong with the question he asked Obama, however I don't agree with his simplistic "that socialism" response to Obama's answer, but hey, this is America, and he is entitled to his think and say that. I also don't think there's anything wrong with him enjoying his 15 miniutes of fame, but I also believe in freedom of the press. I don't hear Joe the plumber claiming his life has been "destroyed" by this. I heard him describe it as "Brittany Spears having a headache". This indicates that he considers himself some sort of celebrity, and that he is having a bad day, NOT that he feels his life has been destroyed.

Actually, he seems like an alright person to me, even if I don't agree with his politics. I think if he played his cards right, he could make alot of money on this. Enough to pay off his tiny unpaid tax bill.

If the people of the State of Nebraska don't want William Ayers addressing the faculty and students of the University Of Nebraska, then I have to agree with them.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I personally don't think anything about Ayres will influence Obama when he becomes president.
