Here is a youtube video of the ENTIRE exchange between Obama and "Joe the plumber" (not just the "spread the wealth" snippet)
I think Obama treated him very respectfully, and gave a thoughtful detailed answer. I don't see this as "an attack".
It's not Obama's fault that the media followed up on a story about a plumber asking a question about taxes (who mentioned ad nauseum by McCain) by checking into his status as a PLUMBER and a TAX PAYER.
I haven't heard Joe the Plumber complain that he's being "destroyed". It' not like press is interviewing every person he has ever "paled around" with, his minister or floating false stories via the internet that he is a Muslim terrorist, trained in a Madrassa since childhood.
One poster claimed that the press wrote about his divorce and him stealing a candy bar when he was 9 years old. I googled and didn't find anything about that.
Anyway, if anyone want to watch the ENTIRE exchange between Obama that Joe the plumber and tell me EXACTLY how Obama "attacked" him, I would love to hear EXACTLY how his detailed answer was an "attack".
"The media hasn't looked as hard at Obama in 2 years as they've looked at this guy in 2 days."
Oh really, a PLUMBER asks a question about TAXES, gets mentioned at a debate by McCain several times, and the press reports on this man's status as a PLUMBER and a TAX PAYER, ant that is a heavy investigation ??????
Could you link me to the press stories about Joe's Pastor, what his ex-wife wrote in a college paper, his early childhood education, and stories on every person he has every "paled around" with ? If so, maybe then there would be substance to your claim that the press is "looking hard" at him.
I haven't heard Joe complain about his 15 miniutes of fame except to say that he feels like "Britanny Spears" with a headache.
I think the guy is OK. He asked an OK question, he got a fair and respectful explanation from Obama. His claims of being a plumber and tax payer were reported by the press. No big smoking gun there, he owes slightly more than a grand in taxes (which the press stories say it is possible he didn't know about ) and he is unlicensed. If he really doesn't need a license than that is no big dea.
How is it Obama's fault that the press followed up on the story ? If Joe the plumber doesn't want to be in the limelight, he didn't have to hold a press conference. And he didn't HAVE to ask Obama the question, although I think it's perfectly all right that he did.
I think Joe is rather enjohying his 15 miniutes of fame, and if he plays his cards right, he can make alot of money on this.
You are in the minority as far as what the Obama campaign and and the media thinks, as I already posted.
Then why do Biden and Obama feel the need to question this guys background? Why is the media reporting that he hasn't paid his taxes?
For God's sake, they are even saying his name isn't "Joe" because it's his middle name! Although, I realize this is the Obama campaign where your middle name is NEVER supposed to be used.
It has nothing to do with the question he asked. He could have been a terrorist 30 years ago, the question is still a legit question. Although Obama might be more friendly to him then.
I guess if you asked McCain a question and they treated you this way, it would be perfectly fine. Right.
I could be wrong but I don't think the claim is that he attacked him in this exchange .... it was the mockery after (he's fighting for a plumber) that bothered people.

TIA.
That makes no sense. You are in the minority if you had no problem with his answer. Obviously, the Obama campaign and the media

No one is trying to destroy the guy (Joe).

I actually listened to what Obama said to Joe and thought he did a good job explaining his position.
Right, that's all that happened.
