Here's Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman on McCain's awful health care plan. GOP partisans like to spin the plan, but at the end of the day the plan just stinks. Don't fall for it.
Sarah Palin ended her debate performance last Thursday with a slightly garbled quote from Ronald Reagan about how, if we aren’t vigilant, we’ll end up “telling our children and our children’s children” about the days when America was free. It was a revealing choice.
I don't blame you for wanting to dodge the details of McCain's actual health care plan. If I were a McCain supporter, I'd walk away from discussing his plan, too. Heck, have you seen how fast health care costs go up? $5000 for
Good point. Somewhere else on this board there was a link to a comprehensive study of McCain's plan.
It noted that health care costs have been increasing 7% while inflation, to which McCain's proposed tax credits would be tied, is rising at a rate of 2-3%.
According to that study, those who get his health care tax credit would come out ahead in the initial few years, but they'd lose substantially in years beyond that.
Insurance premiums would increase at the same high rate as health care costs, but the amount of their tax credits would increase at the much slower rate of inflation.
As expected, it's the insurance companies, and not us little guys, who stand to gain under McCain's health care plan.
Well, I do know where cuts can be made. In the case of my son's EX girlfriend! She is living with her DH, they both work, make close to 50,000, that is inless she is working less to keep up the ACCESS(Medicade) status for my grandson and herself, when my SON actually has primary custody and could have my grandson on SCHIPS either Free SCHIP or low cost. But because the system is screwy, she could have my grandson on medicade, and her son with her DH on SCHIP! Does that make sense? I did a go-round with both Medicade and SCHIP 2 weeks ago. They said SHE has to drop him from Medicade. Sheesh! Maybe I should call the local congressman for their area and let him know this has to change if the State wants to save money.

I don't like either of their health plans generally speaking
since you're still touching on nothing related ... I'll assume you didn't read the article.

I've already said more than once -- I don't like either plan and am defending neither.
I know why you like Obama so much - you evade as well as he does
