I've seen the same types of posts from the Original poster, so nothing new there. But i agree, tensions are running pretty high these days. 17 more days!!!

Kind of like the game Balderdash? That is such a fun game. I think you have a wonderful idea. If I had time I would start it now!

The closer we get to election day, the more hateful the wing nuts will become. There are websites with cartoons of an Obama white house, where he is wearing hip hop attire and eating watermelon in the oval office. I have received flyers where the caption asks if we are safe with a terrorist in the white house. I am embarrassed that we still have thislevel of racism among us.

Well, I know my husband has had more pay increases with Bush than with Clinton, and a higher percentage at that. When we first got married, it was under the first Clinton administration and he brought home $700 a month. Way to treat the military! Go, Bush! I've loved your pay increases!

>>Oh and of course the Obligatory ALL CAPS threads with OBAMA is A MUSLIM, OBAMA IS THE ANTICHRIST, blah - blah - blah threads.<<

Speaking of those threads, I haven't seen anything from patriot08 (aka dr.ed, edwilson01 etc) since I replied to a question in his/her thread (do you have your burka ready?) with I'm practicing how to ululate now. I hope it wasn't something I said...

It was before 1994. This was not with BAH, this was his actual take home. We lived in housing, so we didn't see any money for BAH. His housing allowance at that time would have been $800 if we lived out on town. Maybe he had a higher percentage taken out for taxes, but I can tell you that the amount that was posted on the 1 and 15 of each month for the first few months of marriage was $360. Luckily he made rank real quick, we changed duty stations, lived out on town and a year later he brought in about $1000 a check (that was with BAH).

Washington state is beautiful, your son was lucky to be stationed there. I wish we were.

I sure wouldn't say that a 2.2% in 1993 (FY 1994), a 2.6% in 1994 (FY1995), a 2.4% in 1995 (FY 1996), 2.3% in 1996 (FY 1997), 2.8% in 1997 (FY 1998) even compares to the 3-4% increase with GW. We saw a bigger pay raise under GW. Interesting reading here: http://digital.library.unt.edu/govdocs/crs/permalink/meta-crs-9727:1
beginning his first term.
I don't know about g.h.w bush because by the time I married my husband Clinton was at the beginning of his first term.

But believe me, any pay raise is greatly appreciated. I just don't know how many of them we would get under Obama.
