Voters say they were duped into registering as Republicans

Stephen Osman / Los Angeles Times
"I am not a Republican," insisted Karen Ashcraft, 47, a pet clinic manager from Ventura who said she was duped by a signature gatherer into joining the GOP. "I certainly . . . won't sign anything in front of a grocery store ever again."
YPM, a group hired by the GOP, allegedly deceived Californians who thought they were signing a petition. YPM denies any wrongdoing. Similar accusations have been leveled against the company elsewhere.

SACRAMENTO -- Dozens of newly minted Republican voters say they were duped into joining the party by a GOP contractor with a trail of fraud complaints stretching across the country.
Voters contacted by The Times said they were tricked into switching parties while signing what they believed were petitions for tougher penalties against child molesters. Some said they were told that they had to become Republicans to sign the petition, contrary to California initiative law. Others had no idea their registration was being changed.

Thanks for the video link--excellent!
And a reminder, why did the Bush-Rove machine dismiss those U.S. Attorneys in 2006?
"In contrast to the 2006 dismissals, Presidents rarely dismiss U.S. attorneys they appoint. Kyle Sampson, Chief of Staff at the Department of Justice, noted in a January 9, 2006, e-mail to Harriet Miers: "In recent memory, during the Reagan and Clinton Administrations, Presidents Reagan and Clinton did not seek to remove and replace U.S. Attorneys they had appointed, but instead permitted such U.S. Attorneys to serve indefinitely under the holdover provision" (underlining original). There is no precedent for a President to dismiss several U.S attorneys at one time while in the middle period of the presidential term in office."

This is so funny, comparing this Democrat Secretary of State search for something to complain about to FRAUD CONVICTIONS.
Ever hear of a guy named Nathan Sproul? He's a Republican operative who's his own eponymous voter-registration/petitioning firm, Nathan Sproul & Associates. So what? Well, apparently the problems with him and his firm were - and are - widespread:
Here's Sproul's group trashing registrations in Nevada in 2004.
Here he is committing fraud in Arizona, that same year.
Here's a personal story of Sproul's activities in Pennsylvania.
Here's a bit more about Sproul's efforts on behalf of John McCain (and in his employ, and the RNC's as well).
Anything else?
It really doesn't matter much, since most all of the Acorn nuts are in Californeee, and will deliver all the electoral votes to the Dems.
