I was proud to watch Colin Powell this morning. He articulated many things that have been on my mind in the past weeks as well. I applaud him for breaking with his party to endorse the man he felt most suited for the job. He is right on the money when he says the republican party is moving too far to the right - it is on a dangerous path and is in danger of becoming a caricature of what is wrong with this country rather than what is right.

I've always wondered how he views the Bush years. Powell is loyal in that he will not eviscerate those in the administration even if he feels they were totally screwing things up... but I've a pretty good idea that is exactly what he thought then, and thinks now.

I always thought that Powell would have made a great president. I was a Hillary supporter and was thinking about MCain. But I can't vote for someone who would choose someone like Palin. McCain and Powell were two republicans I admired. I am glad that general Powell has the guts to speak out against the direction of the republicans. Powell is a true American hero.

Awesome.

Chuck Hagel is next.....his wife's already come out publicly in support of Obama. And if Chuck himself does, he should be Secretary of State. He's the guy we need in that job right now.
