But sadder still that he can't see what he is doing to the country. Country First has become a bit of a joke. He is a member of Lincoln's party and what he is doing has the potential to tear the country apart. That to me is the saddest part of all.
Thank you for posting that and for providing the link. I spent a large part of my life in NC, near Fayetteville and wish I could have been there to see him. My sister drove down from Durham and my brother drove down from Mebane to see him. What a different tone than that we have seen from the McCain/Palin camp.
This goes beyond experience, choosing a head of department, manager, etc goes beyond experience. There are times experience is important, but there are times when certain skills form prerequisites for leadership.
I've hired people who spent their entire day gathering information and making decisions that if incorrect could lead to significant financial loss. When I chose such staff, there were other things beyond experience that are important. Experience can be gained, but you can't teach someone to be level headed, you cannot teach them to leave their temper at the door of their office - that has to be done from within.
I see Obama as someone who keeps his head in crisis, who seeks opinion and evaluates, as opposed to McCain's potential to fly off the handle and let pride pick his course.
<<He wasn't just a guy in the neighborhood. We know — we need to know the full extent of that relationship. That is an accurate robo call.
WALLACE: But Senator, back — if I may, back in 2000 when you were the target of robo calls, you called these hate calls and you said...
MCCAIN: They worked.
WALLACE: ... and you said the following, "I promise you, I have never and will never have anything to do with that kind of political tactic."
Now you've hired the same guy who did the robo calls against you to — reportedly, to do the robo calls against Obama...>>
WOW!
<<WALLACE: I want to ask you about William Ayres. Last may, Bill O'Reilly asked you about Ayres and also about Reverend Jeremiah Wright. And here's what you had to say. Let's watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MCCAIN: This campaign is not going to be about — in all due respect, about Reverend Wright or Mr. Ayres. It's going to be about vision. It's going to be about a plan of action, for the American people are hurting right now.
(END VIDEO CLIP)>>
Well...turns out he was right in one major respect. This election IS going to be about vision....Who's got it and who doesn't.
"And I've said to Mr. Obama, "You have to pass a test of do you have enough experience, and do you bring the judgment to the table that would give us confidence that you would be a good president."
Later, he explains how Obama, in his view, has passed this test.

Again....Not quite.
"On the Obama side, I watched Mr. Obama and I watched him during this seven-week period.

Found this snip from an ABC report, but it's not the one I saw where Powell was giving the quote.

I'll take the skills Obama exhibits any day.

According to those who accuse me of being a feminazi, we are out to feminise American men.
I'm sure you believe that. ;-)
