>>> There *is* someone above the president - us. We choose them.

Really? Try giving him a call and telling him how you feel about the job he's doing. Or better yet, why not just drive up to his house...you know where he lives...and filling "your employee" in on the mistakes he's making. LOL! Sorry...no...you're no "above" the President. You don't counsel him and he is not accountable to you in anything but your imagination. It is the President who chooses his counsel and also chooses whether or not to listen to it...and as I said, in these dangerous times, we can't afford a neophyte getting "on the job training."

>>> And in evaluating which will better fulfill job expectations, IMO that is Obama.

What is it that you find so compelling? Is it his ignorance of foreign policy and economics, or his socialist policies that has you so enthralled?

>>> There are huge red flags attached to McCain,

Yeah, all that experience is pretty frightening.

>>> and while you do not think you can take a chance on someone supposedly lacking experience, I see Obama's skills as light years ahead of McCain, in terms of leading a staff and a nation.

And you know this because Obama has led...er...what? Obama has never even run a lemonade stand, let alone a country. He was unaccomplished as a community organizer, he was unaccomplished as a state Senator, and his is unaccomplished as a freshman US Senator...unless you consider being the most liberal Senator, or scoring a BILLION in earmarks or being second highest on the Fannie/Freddie payroll an "accomplishment." It does, however, show that he's as corrupt or as corruptible as the best of them considering his "accomplished" so much in such a short time in the Senate.

>>> Again in my opinion, the real neophyte here is McCain.

Drink up. Score one for Marxism.

I am shocked at Colin Powell's endorsement. I am also very happy, because of the wonderful things that Gen. Powell had to say about Obama. I hope that McCain was listening. Wait...I mean I hope that the REAL leaders of the GOP were listening and will take heed to Gen.Powell's disappointment in the GOP's latest actions.

If the die-hard GOPers are disgusted by McCain's campaign, the party is in real trouble. Obama is all about inclusion, and McCain comes along and makes it his personal mission to divide the country, because Obama didn't agree to 10 town halls? OMG! McCain is truly unstable. I pray that Gen. Powell's views about the GOP wake-up these misguided people for the sake of our country's unity.

I really don't know. All I can do is say where *I* first became aware of the label and who is saying it the most. I first heard it snearingly put forth by the Republican side (actually....waaay back in those all caps threads that are cut and pasted from extreme right wing sites by someone who's screen name changes on an almost daily basis). I continue to hear it with incredible regularity from the right (and more frequently in their mainstream rather than extreme circles). I've heard it referred to a few times from the pro-Obama side....but long after the first time and it's always referred to in a joking manner (as though they're making fun of the over-the top-Messiah claims by the opposition).

Did you hear Obama mention it, himself, at the roast that both he and McCain were so funny at?

He said the question had been asked "Who Was Barak Obama."

Yes....That was very funny. Another funny line from Obama was when he said his greatest strength was his humility and his biggest flaw was that he was so darned awesome. LOL!

A few of my favourite McCain lines was when he said that people sometimes referred to Obama as "The One" but since he knew him personally, he just called him "THAT one" and also that Obama had a pet name for him too - George Bush.

No way.

For many, Colin Powell was officially their First Black Friend™. His endorsement of Obama might just convince them to give a second one a shot.

Particularly since Powell actually told Tom Brokaw specifically that:

I’m an American, first and foremost, and I’m very proud–I said, I’ve said, I’ve said to my beloved friend and colleague John McCain, a friend of 25 years, “John, I love you, but I’m not just going to vote for you on the basis of our affection or friendship.” And I’ve said to Barack Obama, “I admire you. I’ll give you all the advice I can. But I’m not going to vote for you just because you’re black.” We, we have to move beyond this.

People will believe what they wish to believe, apparently, regardless of whatever the facts may be.

I am old enough (60) to remember when 'conservative' and 'liberal' didn't begin with a Capital letter.
